Ideal Home Show Manchester

For this years Ideal Home Show we were lucky enough to be asked to design a scheme for the Ideal Roomsets. The theme we chose was a summer dining room, which was featured alongside 3 other roomsets all themed around the seasons.

I’ll blog our design in detail next week once I have some lovely professional images to share. For now I thought I’d do a quick post on my show highlights from my visit yesterday. You can use the post as a little inspo for your visit if your planning on heading to the show this weekend or just for a nosey at the best bits (in my opinion obviously) if you can’t make it.

The main features of the show are really impressive this year, there’s the Ideal Showhome in the form of George Clarke’s rotating home from Amazing Spaces, it’s pretty incredible up close so well worth stopping by for one of the talks throughout the day. There is also a beautiful Ideal Show Garden created using reclaimed materials and wild planting, then there’s the Ideal Roomsets (featuring us) which I talked about above.

I loved this years Ideal Super Theatre, built with a backdrop of pallets, this is where all the experts share their design tips throughout the day.

For me, the standout retailer at the show was Wine Barrel Furniture Company, who make the most beautiful furniture from wine barrels and crates, seriously lusting after their kitchen island complete with push to open drawers.

There was also some fun lighting upcycles on the Mudd & Co stand that caught my eye. Their background is in antiques which gives their kitchens a pretty unique vibe.

The show tickets include access to the Eat & Drink festival, there you can get inspo from chefs and wine experts or sample all of the amazing food & drink stands. I’m heading back on Sunday as I couldn’t manage to try everything & I may even bring home a doggy bag!

Cazcabel Tequila‘s reclaimed stand caught my eye & the amazing pink peppercorn margarita was so good…I may have to be back for another on Sunday.

I love a horsebox upcycle, I actually planned to create a pop up shop in one to tour the country in but never got around to it. Salute is the prettiest I’ve come across with it’s rustic accessories, fairy lights and flowers (not to mention the Prosecco tap). I didn’t get to sample one of their delicious looking cocktails yesterday as it was a little too early in the day but I might head back for one on Sunday afternoon.

I’d love to hear your show highlights & if there is anything I’ve missed and must see on Sunday?
