Almost 6 years ago to the day (thanks to timehop that I know) I exhibited at the Country Living Christmas fair in Harrogate, it was the first big exhibition I’d attended with my very young (at the time) business & I naively took on the added pressure of designing a roomset for the show’s entrance too (have I ever mentioned how I forgot to book the van for the show closing & we had to pack a roomset & sales stand into 3 cars? I drove over the tops in December with the top off my little VW beetle, a sack trolley hanging out and genuinely thought I’d caught hypothermia). I’m not sure I’d be as brave if I was just starting out now but at the time it felt amazing to be a part of such an iconic show & it was (still is) the friendliest environment of any of the large exhibitions that I’ve been lucky enough to work with.
So when the Country Living Fair team for the 2019 show got in touch and asked whether I would like to come along as one of the shows ambassadors I quite literally jumped at the chance. It feels a little bit like coming home. I’ll be heading to the show on it’s opening day this Thursday (5th December) & will be looking out for some unique & sustainable Christmas gifts & decorations.
The show hosts a schedule of Christmas workshops throughout the day & the one I’m very much looking forward to attending is the ‘How Green is your Christmas’ workshop which I’m really interested in learning a few things from. I’ll also be checking out the Kitchen Theatre to get some inspo for our festive feasting.
Are you planning on heading to the Country Living Christmas Fair this week? If you’re there on Thursday let me know as I’d love to catch up over a coffee & a mince pie.
