At the beginning of November (feels like years ago doesn’t it?), I posted the inspiration for our mini bathroom makeover and I’m so pleased to say that it’s finally finished. We had a couple of delays and there are still a couple of finishing touches I’d like to add but I’m so happy with the end results…it really does amaze me how with the right products you can completely transform a bathroom without any major works being done. Our master bathroom is only small but the makeover has made the most of the space, the room feels much bigger, brighter and more interesting than before.
The first thing we did was paint the walls and the tiles. The walls are painted in this gorgeous warm grey from Paint by Conran, it’s called Dry Barley and I’m so happy to tell you that it is now available to purchase in the LMH store. The tiles were painted in white Wilko one coat tile paint, it did take a couple of coats due to the tiles underneath being so dark but I’m really happy with the end finish. I changed the grout colour using a Ronseal black grout pen. What do you think?
Swapping out a standard glass shower screen for this cool curtain rail made from industrial tubing and fixings has really added some personality to the room and it’s now much more in keeping with the decor in our home. The shower curtain breaks up the tiles and brings the scheme together with its grey chevron print.
How amazing is this bath panel made from reclaimed pallet wood by the super talented Eaves Design on Etsy? I LOVE it, it gives such a warmth to what is otherwise a pretty clinic space. Reclaimed wood always adds so much character to even the smallest of rooms doesn’t it?
The gallery wall was the only real way to add our personal touch to the bathroom as the space is too small to add many decorative touches. The prints were chosen from the huge range over at Desenio to reflect our personalities and encourage us to relax in the space more (new years resolution – have more baths!). The mixture of gold and black frames bring the room together and I love how well this bargain The Range mirror works with the bath panel. The lovely people at Desenio have offered a discount code for LMH readers. The code “littlemillhouse” gives 25% off posters between 6th – 8th December.
To complete the room I added some gold accessories (most of which were upcycled using Rustoleum spray paint) and some trusty Ikea plants. The try of bath goodies in upcycled jars and decanters adds a little luxury to the room, how gorgeous is the little handmade scoop? The creased gold planter & candle holders are available from the LMH store.
The final touch which softened the look and added some warmth to the space were these lovely Egyptian cotton towels from Hampton and Astley, I chose this colour out of their huge range of 16 colourways as I wanted to enhance the warmth of the wood bath panel and I think they do the trick perfectly! (Little Mill House readers can get a 50% discount on a towel bundle of your choice with code LMH).
So what do you think? A good transformation on a budget? It was a challenge but I’m so glad we did it and can’t wait for a soak in there. A huge thank you to the lovely suppliers we collaborated with for gifting us the products:
Eaves Design for the bath panel
Wilko for the tile paint
Desenio for the gold frames and prints (don’t forget to use that discount code)
Simplified Building for the curtain rail parts
Paint by Conran for the wall paint
Hampton and Astley for the Egyptian cotton towel bundle
