Ikea’s Stylish & Sustainable Collections

Ikea have been a go-to for quick, easy, affordable interiors since forever (who doesn’t head to Ikea for plants and candles) but only recently have they started building a name for themselves in the sustainable living world. So much so that they have made a pledge that all of their products will be made from recycled or renewable materials by 2030. Obviously they have a long way to go to make that a reality but they’re definitely making steps in the right direction.

Here are my three favourite sustainable collections in stores now…

Överallt is a collaboration between Ikea and designers from 5 African countries, resulting in a colourful collection. My favourite piece from the range is the outdoor cushion made from waste crisp packets (and it’s less than a tenner!).

Tänkvärd is a beautiful collection that dropped in stores in April ’19, full of natural materials giving a real boho feel. The range centres around a neutral colour palette with pops of blue, the stand out pieces for me are the bamboo bench and the light shade made using sustainable cotton from recycled or renewable sources.

Last up is Knixhult a sustainable range of lighting made from Bamboo, one of the worlds fastest growing renewable materials. This collection is definitely going to be a future classic of Ikea’s, it works in so many different home decor styles and environments! The range includes a pendant lamp, table lamp & this cool floor lamp.
