Cross World Elephant Day & upcycled interiors…

what do you get…a blog post all about elephant poo paper of course!

Just kidding! Although I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to an elephant poo paper factory during my time in Sri Lanka I don’t think the process is quite interesting enough for a full blog post on the subject. I do love using elephant decorative accessories in my home interior and in interior design projects I’ve worked on, they’re such a beautiful animal that it’s good to be reminded of their existence as much as possible!

Here are some of the elephant inspired upcycles I’ve come across that guarantee to make me smile.

elephants on beach

This family of elephants is hand sculpted from reclaimed wood by artist Andries Botha, I’d love them to visit a beach in the U.K sometime to see the sculptures up close. You can read more about them here.

Aren’t these miniature recycled metal elephants sweet? They are available to buy and view here. I’m lusting after one for LMH (I’d really like a lifesize one but our house size and bank balance wouldn’t agree with me), Pangea (the company who import them have a showroom not far from us so expect a full blog post on their designs sometime soon.

We sold these recycled cardboard elephants back in the earlier days of the Little Mill House store, they’re stunning & made such a statement when I had one here at home (which I reluctantly sold to a lovely lady who fell in love with our last display piece). Due to costs we no longer sell them (thanks shipping & customs charges) but you can order one directly from Cardboard Safari.

How do you add a little safari style to your home interior?

Sidenote: If you love reading our blog or just enjoyed this post when you stumbled upon it I’d be so grateful if you could take a moment to vote for Little Mill House in the Interior Blog Awards, just click this link & it will only take a minute…thank you in advance!
