Country Living Christmas Fair

Back in September we were asked to submit a room design for the Country Living christmas fair in Harrogate, which we were exhibitors at. Our upcycled dining room design was chosen by the country living team and we got straight to work. After weeks of designing, planning and making, off we went bright and early on December 27th for a manic day of building, painting and general (organised) chaos!

After a long and at times stressful day we were ready for the start of the show on Thursday 28th December. The theme we went for was upcycled (surprise surprise) and this theme went further than you’d think, we laid the floor made from reclaimed scaffold boards and the fabulous Welsh slate paint is made from 90% recycled paint content.

Once the floor was laid we assembled the cinema chairs and vault horse bench followed by the dining table, made of a beautifully worn door and singer sewing machine base and watched our very helpful electricians install our bowler hat and jelly mould pendant lights.

Behind the table stands a vintage cheese stand bookshelf full of upcycled glassware and christmas decorations.

Across the room was an upcycled print tray table filled with jewel like Cadburys Roses, with an antique decanter lamp sat on the top.

On the painted walls were upcycled Tennis racket mirrors, Cardboard taxidermy Moose and a starburst of Amish stars.

The Fair ran from the 28th November – 1st December and as first time exhibitors we had so much fun! Thanks to Country Living Fairs for giving us this ace opportunity, we enjoyed every minute of it.
