I’ve just returned from a trip to Switzerland to beat the January blues & visit my sister’s new home. It’s a country I’ve never visited before so was keen to see as much of the place as possible in 5 days. We spent the weekend across the border in Chamonix as the boy wanted to see some snow & the town didn’t disappoint. We mooched round the town & had lunch, there we’re plenty of stylish cafes & shops to browse (which surprised me as it’s such a large tourist spot). It seemed like everywhere had some quirky upcycling going on which I absolutely loved to see.
The landscape up there was breathtaking, as was expected. We spent an afternoon riding the cable car with the skiers into the mountains & the colours/views/landscapes were so inspiring. I could have sat there with a vin chaud all day!
In Switzerland we spent most of our days exploring Geneva, the old town and areas surrounding were right up my street. The city is full of beautiful architecture & cobbled streets, all of which surround Lake Geneva.
Feeling totally inspired by this trip & really didn’t expect too as it was only meant to be a fun 5 days of sister time. I’m looking forward my next visit to explore some more of this beautiful spot.
Inspired by the colours of both Geneva & the French Alps I’ve created a little colour scheme as I never want to forget how beautiful those tones look together.
Have you visited Geneva or the alps recently? What did you think? For more travel inspo check out my Granada & Dubai posts in the travel category of the blog.
