I love Autumn…the bright, sunny mornings, conkers, colourful leaves and bringing out the knitwear. If like me, you can’t go out for a sunny, morning dog walk without filling your pockets with goodies that have fallen from the trees then keep reading. I’ve put together a selection of easy DIY ideas for displaying all the nature you collect on autumn outings for you to try out this weekend.
If, like me, you’ve got a little carried away with the beautiful shades of leaves that you simply cannot leave behind in the park this leaf wreath is for you. This gorgeous wreath for the front door will see you through Autumn and all it takes is a bag full of leaves threaded onto some wire. Beautiful!
This simple idea combines two of my favourites…jam jars and candles! I love the colour and patterns the leaves give off when lit, all you need to do to make these little beauties is eat lots of blackberry jam and glue some leaves to the outside of the jars. Voila!
Pressed leaves simply framed in glass backed frames will make for a very autumnal mantle display with minimal effort ( Asda living have some fab glass backed frames in store at the moment & they’re a bargain).
If you’re feeling slightly more creative and fancy a rainy afternoon project then this leaf bowl is a beautiful keepsake of autumn, it would make an amazing autumn, harvest gift. For this one you need to glue (paper mache style) the leaves to a balloon and once dry, pop & remove the balloon leaving this gorgeous little bowl. I love it!
