Boxpark Dubai

Dubai isn’t the first place in the world you think of when looking for industrial, salvaged style so I was pretty surprised when researching our trip to Dubai that it had its very own Boxpark. It provides a welcome contrast from the glamour of the malls and hotels in the city, bringing the colour, fun design and amazing eateries we have come to expect from the Boxpark brand.

How cool is the cinema? I wish we’d had time to keep cool in there and watch a film for a couple of hours. Boxpark Dubai has its usual playfulness with giant games to play along with probably my favourite kids play areas I’ve come across (unfortunately we were there at midday when it was far too hot to be hanging around outside).

I love the grey and green colour scheme of this bar area, the staircase looks amazing, don’t you think?

There’s lots of choice in eateries, very varied from Falafel to Starbucks. We chose to dine at Gossip as the grey and blush colour scheme was drawing me in. They have the most beautiful cake counter & the iced vanilla bean latte was the best I’ve ever had!

The outdoor dining area at Bianca looks so inviting and I completely want to steal the shipping container sun shade idea for my next home (that will have a big enough outdoor space for one). I also have no idea how they keep those crates of flowers looking so healthy in that heat, I struggle in the UK – all tips welcome!

Dri Dri is probably my favourite Ice cream parlour, it just combines all of my favourite design elements in one perfect little space, shipping container, rusted cladding, yellow oil drum tables…the list goes on. It’s such a well thought out little space.

The shops at Boxpark Dubai are the usual favourites, Nike, Marimekko, Typo (where we spent at least an hour and a small fortune between us on things we ‘needed’).  One thing Boxpark Dubai has that no other Boxpark can compete with is that amazing backdrop of downtown Dubai and the Burj Khalifa.

Where next for the Boxpark brand? We can’t wait to find out!

We’d love to hear your thought on Dubai & Boxpark, comment below or email me at natalie@littlemillhouse.co.uk for more of our travel posts have a look here.
